He means for the lenovo energy manager, which profile haave you tried.  There is a clear and significant improvement in the casual/cinema/high-performance modes while the stable mode makes the color regress to it's post-fix state.

As an avid amateur photographer, I would NEVER use a laptop for editing photos for contrast, color balance or saturation. Your mileage may vary, but for me a laptop is not a desktop replacement - yet.

I bought a Y2P for my wife to replace a Dell that is dying of hardware failures.  Interestingly, I have never mentioned the yellow issue to her, nor have I installed the BIOS and Energy Manager updates, nor do I expect to do so.  She has never mentioned color, never complained about the yellows being "off" and loves the laptop which she uses almost exclusively in laptop mode.  She has looked at hundreds of my amateur photos on the Y2P and never noticed anything wrong.  I have an i7/256 SSD and I'm getting close to 7 hours per charge, although she uses it almost exclusively on AC power.

Same for me: the 'permanent fix' doesn't seem to offer any improvement over the 'temporary fix' that was suggested a month ago (i.e. using high performance mode), which makes me think either I installed the BIOS and Energy Manager updates incorrectly or people are just seeing things they want to see. In Lenovo Energy Manager, the lowest performance mode still has atrocious yellows. The other modes  have better color rendering, particularly if the screen brightness is jacked up, but it doesn't seem to be any better than before. Am I missing something? Is it possible I installed the updates incorrectly?

No, you're right.  The "lowest" setting is actually "Stable Mode".  "Daily Mode" is the next one up, and that's where the improvement starts.

It's still a greener/darker yellow than I like (even on brightest setting), but for me it's livable.  Not to sound like a broken record, but of course I'd like to see a solution that is fixed at a deeper level so the colors are "good" in anything outside of Windows 8.1.

Just to comment in Daily Mode the yellow issue is much approved for me.  Perfect? No, but much better, yes.

Also I was one of those people that when installing the bios update I had the issue of the laptop turning off except screen stayed on.  After freaking out for a few minutes in fear, I held the power button in for about 10 seconds and it came back to life.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro 13 Yellow Color Issues

A few days back a couple of people were reporting that after the bios and EM updates, the screen seem to be dimmer, meaning that you will have to set screen brightness at a higher % than before the fix, in order to achieve the same brightness you have before the fix. For example, if before the fix you were happy with brightness at 40%, after the fix, you may have to set it at 60% or 80% to get a similar level of brightness. It seems that the nits/percentage ratio changes after the fix. This seems to be more noticeable when you start going down from 60%, going up from 60%, the screen start to get much brighter and the difference in brightness/percentage ratio is less evident. Some people mention that this could be mitigated by turning adaptive brightness OFF in the Metro UI and in the Intel graphics setting. It look that this worked for some people, but not for others. Has anybody else experienced something like that?

Let's say after updating the Bios and the EM to fix the color I'm not happy with the results, it is possible to revert things to the way they were before?

Re: Yoga 2 Pro 13 Yellow Color Issues

I installed the bios and energy manager fixes and now my screen is about 30% dimmer overall, the yellow is better but still greenish. Also the screen will flicker about every 20 seconds to a brighter screen then stay bright for about 5 seconds and dim again. This happens no metter what energy setting I use or what bightness level I use.

This dimmness is most noticable when rebooting. When the system shuts down the screen brightens up about 30% brighter (just like it was before i install the fixes) for about 3 seconds then dims again. Then when the computer starts it again brightens up for a couple seconds and dims again.

Anyone else seeing these issues after applying the fix?

How do I revert/uninstall the fixes? I can handle the color issue but not this flickering dim screen.

Thanks.
