I also continued to experience drops, although less frequent and severe as the original card, after upgrading to the AC card. Seemed like not many other people were having issues though so I began to think it was just an issue with my router. Since installing the recent 17.0.5.8 driver from Intel though, everything seems to have cleared up.

Like TheOiulkj and others, I simply went to the Intel site and downloaded
the updated driver. It's been about a month now and I have experienced
zero drops. I am not sure what the Lenovo driver update does, or even it
is not the same as the Intel driver.

I am leaving this conversation but I would recommend buying the Yoga Pro 2.

One problem of the Y2P is the noise he makes. The fan turns on every ten seconds even if you use it for basic tasks.
If you hadn't buy it already, I recommend to wait for the next Intel core processor's generation which will allow fanless (and so thinner) computers.
The surface pro 3, Asus transformer book T300 Chi and maybe the Y3P will be out for the end of the year.

I had WiFi drops with my Y2P, tried to change something in the settings and now I have a stable connection always with 16.3.5.6 wich have the best speed connection..

Yoga's fan does kick in at a very low temperature, but it is so quiet (and runs at 20%) that you literally have to put your ear 1 inch away from the rear of the laptop to hear it.
Even when you're running some benchmark test where fans (both of them) run at 100% it's still much quieter than many other laptops.

Those with AC wifi card - maybe Lenovo's stock wifi drivers (both old and new one) are optimized for stock wifi card, so Intel's latest drivers might be more suitable for AC card?

Re Mac - if you think Macs are without problems, you might get badly disappointed. Surprisingly many people think that, but that's not the case.
Apple has good quality, but nowhere as good as many people think.

Lenovo is disappointing in regard to both service and quality, service is definitely much worse than Apple's.

That being said - I still think Y2P is the best laptop/convertible at the market at the MOMENT. Best value for money too.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

I have a similar problem.  My Yoga 2 Pro (which I got only for a couple of months) works better at the office and coffee shops, but it is really slow and inconsistent at my vacation home.   I don't think it likes my router.   I tried all the suggestions in this post but it is still problematic.   I have the latest driver and max performance.

The worst part is that it doesn't have an ethernet port so I can't test a direct connection.  My other PC that connects to the router works fine though, so I am pretty sure this Yoga is the problem.

Can someone explain why this machine works better with certain routers than others?  Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

The new CPUs are i7 4510U or i5 4210U. The "old" ones are i7 4500U and i5 4200U. Just search for "Yoga 2 Pro 4510U" (or 4210U for Core i5).

Here on eBay, i7 4510U with 8GB RAM and 256 GB SSD for $1250:

PrinceVentur, I have had success with the driver update.  The connection is solid and has not dropped once on me, and very happy I did upgrade my drivers!
