Purchased a different wireless card:

Intel 7260.NGWWB Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11ac M.2 NGFF

and...

upgraded to the latest Intel drivers that just became available (6/30/2014).  I had connection drops once every 20 minutes prior to this.  The latest driver finally worked.

Many thanks splus so a 3% upgrade, I see what you mean about not being significant. Just today they have started to appear on the UK website, only the CPU change and not with the wifi change sadly.

Are you sure about no wifi card upgrade?

That Notebook Review post (and 1 or 2 other people after it) says the new wifi card has 5 GHz band. Tried iand tested. That means they upgraded it.

I also read somewhere that all Y2P units sold in BB in US are now new refreshed Y2Ps.

No but there is no mention of the ac card it still says bgn on the website but the cpu says  i7-4510U:

The post you point to says an ac card. Might be just an update issue with the site, guess we'll have to wait until someone buys one.

Using the latest diver update improves the number of drop outs but I'm still getting them...  Sometimes I can watch my signal strength bounce from full to 3 bars then drops out and very quickly reconnects.  Having my 11 year old Sony SZ1 beside it is rock solid at 4 bars.

I've ordered the AC upgrade to do myself and that just leaves the audio jack disconnection problem unsolved to return to Lenovo when I get the opportunity at the end of the year.  Not sure what they’ll say about the warrantee with an upgraded WiFi card…but need a reliable machine.

I spoke with a Lenovo Sales representative a few minutes ago. He said that Best Buy sells the Yoga 2 Pro units with the updated Intel Core i7-4510U processor and Intel 7260 Wireless (2x2 BGN) network card under contract with Lenovo. The Lenovo Sales representative also said that the updated Yoga 2 Pro units may not be available on the United States website until Fall. If anyone has been able to buy the updated Yoga 2 Pro directly from Lenovo, please post.

I would think the latest i7 4510u would be a huge difference, but apparently not..

I'm not sure what else could be dropping your connection.  What type of router are you using?  I heard people upgrading their router's firmware does the trick.  Also heard people using DD-WRT has totally fixed their wifi drops.

Are you also using bluetooth?  If not, I would disable that completely (like I am) which is a total battery consumer.
