Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

I bought one from here:

http://www.mfactors.com/7260ngw-intel-dual-band-wireless-ac-7260-802-11ac-dual-band-2x2-wi-fi-bluetooth-4-0/

Not fitted it yet, should have my hands on it in two weeks but I’m sure I’ll get it working as per the previous member’s posts. They shipped to UK for 12.45 USD

Strange, when I'm using a secondary monitor as my main screen and using my the Y2P in tent mode beside it in split screen mode my WiFi drops much more often, could there be a heat issue? I’ve tried old and new drivers but this Y2Problem is still crapping out.

After I reformated (and reverted to Sept 2013 drivers) my pc I downloaded and installed BitDefender Free Edition. Shortly after installing it I started getting the "limited connectivity" problem again. So, now I'm wondering if BitDefender is a contributor to this problem. I'm running Windows Defender now and my connection is fine. Wierd because my other Y2P has Bit Defender installed and has no connectivity issues.

Irrelevant. I have BitDefender and have no issues.

Maybe so. I reinstalled BitDefender. Gonna see how it goes. I really hope this old driver from Sept (16.5.3.6) resolves the issue. Not sure if it matters but I have never installed 2 "optional updates" on the other Y2P (one w/o connectivity issues).

"ASIX - LAN - ASIX AX88772B USB2.0 to Fast Ethernet Adapter" and "Intel - Other hardware - Intel(R) Management Engine Interface". I have avoided installing these on the restored machine as well.

I'm at a loss. Still get limited connectivity issues w/o Bit Defender and with the old N-7260 driver. Seems to happen less often than before I restored my PC.

Bit Finder, old drivers to new drivers, Blue tooth, changing various settings, USB 3.0 hub interference, using different routers, heat issues...????  This is a HUGE thread now and everyone has different causes, different possible fixes.

Has anyone tried standing on one leg?  When Saturn, Venus and moon are aligned, could that be causing problems?

Or a completely random unstable product from Lenovo. Whatever works for you because there will be no other definitive answer…

I've posted my various problems within reviews of Y2P, wish I knew this before buying...

I believe most of my internet problems are caused by my ISP; when I get
them my husband is getting on his computer too, maybe just with
different error messages. And I didn't have them for 4 months at my
other house. I've had the AC card a week now and my connection is more
solid. Maybe it can just ride out glitches from my ISP better.

But 4-5 times now I've gotten the "limited connectivity" and had to
reboot. I read this can be caused by malware; it can also be caused by
a hundred other things including anti-virus software. Right about the
time I first got this error, I got the "Media Player" malware that pops
up a browser window that you need to update your media player. Then I
installed a bunch of ant-malware programs to get rid of it. I am
suspecting that either the malware or one of the programs I installed to
fix it maybe responsible in my case.

My guess it is the router causing this issue. Is it an older one? Does it have the latest firmware loaded in it?

If you mean the limited connectivity, it can't be the router because it
happened in 3 different locations.

@qofmiwok

A very simple test, if you believe it’s your ISP (or router) then use a second computer to confirm this from the same location as the Y2P. Or use your mobile phone to prove if it is only an Y2P drop out or both, the later it will be a router or ISP problem.  I used an 11 year old laptop to confirm it was only the Yoga losing connection and an online speed test to prove the Yoga was operating at a much lower bandwidth than the much older computer, repeat this test a few times to confirm.

When I spoke to tech support they said return the Y2P when I said I did this test multiple times with the same result, this will prove beyond doubt it a Yoga problem.  Also the Y2P signal strength was bouncing while the old computer was solid.
