My Y2P is regrettably the worst computer I have ever purchased and a horrid travel companion.

Can anyone else confirm that the new AC card with latest drivers fully resolves the network dropout issues?

I can confirm that on my Y2P with the "N" type network card and latest Intel WIFI drivers that the WIFI regularly drops out and reports “Limited Connection” i.e. no internet access on certain routers which to say the least, is very far from satisfactory. The only resolution I have found is to reboot the computer.

I read that Lenovo recommends using a different router... maybe I could get Lenovo to call the hotel I'm currently staying at and see what the response is (noting that several other WIFI devices we are using on the same network are working perfectly). Has anyone had any realistic response from Lenovo that has resolved this issue (and sorry, however using a different router is NOT a solution that I will accept - even suggesting this is an insult)?

Nearing the 24 hour mark with the latest drivers (and as I've already posted mine came wth the AC chip) and so far no "limited connection" bull**** with the exception of a very very brief hiccup on waking my computer from sleep last night. I responded to this by going into power-saving preferences for the network and unchecking "turn off to save power" under the AC chip, and since then, things have been going smoothly. I'll update again in the next few days/weeks to confrim that the issue is truly resolved and I'm not just getting lucky for an extended period of time, but considering that before I updated the driver I had the "limited" issue multiple times over the span of a couple of hours, I'm optimisitic.

If I have the original wireless card, is the newest Intel driver (v17.0.5.8) an improvement vs the latest one I installed from Lenovo (v17.0.1.5)?   Is anyone using the latest Intel driver with the original wireless card and noticing a difference?

I put in the AC card and still had an occasional "limited connection"
with that. I've never had this problem a lot, just now and then for the
past month. Last time it happened I rebooted to fix it, and saw SpyBot
was hung up, and I had installed that around the time I started getting
the limited connection, so I uninstalled Spybot. I also downloaded the
new Intel driver yesterday and so far haven't had the limited
connection. But I am not a good indicator because I never had it that
much to begin with. I'll let you know in a week. I'm curious if anyone
else with the limited connection problem running Spybot.

I /am /still having the other problem where everybody on my network gets
periods of time where no data comes through, which the other guy fixed
by running 5 GHz on his router. I haven't bought a new router to try
that yet.

Unfortunately the latest Intel drivers (v17.0.1.5) do NOT resolve the problem.

During the past 3 days I have had constant network dropouts, sometimes even requiring a reboot. During the exact same period my kids have been enjoying uninterrupted internet access on the iPads. (note: we are at a hotel on vacation so I have zero influence over what router or router configuration is being used)

Has Lenovo commented anything or do they simply not care?

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

I may be onto something related to the network adapter power management.

For the past 3 days or more I have had exceptionally poor internet on my Y2P (at a hotel) while other devices are working perfectly so I am reasonably sure that there are no problems with the WIFI network. Sometimes my Y2P magically works and other times not at all. Today the internet has been exceptionally poor.

BUT THEN.... A few hours back I plugged my Y2P into the power outlet and magic - no more internet dropout issues!

Could the problem simply be with power management - even though I specifically told the computer not to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the Device Manager - Wireless Network Adapter Properties - Power Management Tab, I just noticed that in the Power Manager - Power Options settings there is an option to configure the Power Savings Mode as shown below:

Has anyone been noticing similar problems and tried plugging the Y2P into the wall or selecting "Maximum Performance" for the Wireless Adapter in the Power Options?

Update to my last post, I have had 2 "limited connectivity" dropouts
today since I installed the new driver. So that was not the fix. I was
on battery power both times.
