What router are you using? I too upgraded my but I'm still not getting stellar speed, and I am wondering if it's because I still am using an old wireless N router.

I have a Dlink DIR-855 router. My Y2P sometimes works fine and sometimes it is very tempremental (constantly dropping out).

My biggest headache is public and hotel networks - very very very poor results in the past (no connection while all my other mobile devices worked perfectly) however the last driver update posted by Lenovo seemed to help quite a bit.

hi, yoga 2 is my first lenovo device. this is for the first time i'm encountering such a wifi problems. i have tried almost everything mentioned in this thread. the key hint - disable ipv6 on my notebook. so, now i'm running the latest wifi driver, ipv6 switched off and no problem anymore... i have to say i'm quite dissapointed with lenovo devices now. good design, bad operating, i'm wondering, does lenovo test its products? anyway, thanks to all for valuable hints! p.s. i have never contribute such a community but would like to share my experience for the first time :-)

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

Wow I just figured out what went wrong for me, and it just might be one of the dumbest thing i have done in recent memory.

So I bought a the AC chip form amazon over the summer and followed the video and everything to replace it. However, since then, my speed still was pretty slow, but i just went with it because I felt wifi was a bit better and i just blamed it on my router. I would still check back on this thread every now and then to see if there was a definite fix.

However today out of curiosity, I opened up device manager to check up on my driver version, only to see that the wireless adapter was called 7260N. I thought it was weird because I knew that I had upgraded to AC. So I downloaded the AC drivers again and installed them, only to find it was still named 7260N.

I was super confused and so I went ahead and opened up my laptop to check if Amazon sent me the wrong card. And low and behold, when I open up the back plate, I see the the old chip plugged in, and an unplugged wireless AC chip casually siting on top of my battery. For 4 months I led myself to believe that I had upgraded my wireless card when in reality I just slapped the backplate back on without doing anything.

Anyways I just installed the AC card and I'm getting awesome speeds. Moral of the story: don't be dumb.

That is a great story, beefmo, and we all make mistakes no matter how much experience we have! Glad to hear about the awesome speeds! :)

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

Purchased a Yoga 2 Pro a few weeks ago. Lots of issues. Very unstable with a number of my apps, including any Flash on Firefox browser, Corel x4 (video write issues), Thunderbird (program hangs), and HDHomeRun -- a wi-fi bandwidth-intensive app for watching TV on PC. Seems like there's just not enough bandwidth on the wi-fi to keep up with the TV streaming data. My last PC (Asus Zenbook) never had a problem with HDHomeRun, so I know the app works fine. Is the Yoga 2 Pro really that poory designed? Or did I just get a lemon?

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

I spent days looking for solution, tried everything, updating drivers, rolling them back etc. Went through all the 144 pages of this discussion. Tried solution which jgunderson posted here http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Re-Yoga-2-Pro-Wifi-Problems/td-p/1452437/highlight/true/page/6 to turn off the Bluetooth AMP. Did not work.

Then, I went into SERVICES, there are 3 Bluetooth services there: Device Monitor, OBEX service and Support Monitor. If you double click, it will open properties and under Startup type switch to Manual.

That did the trick for me, for now. It seems that the wi-fi works fine now. Will return in couple of days here to confirm.

With 144 pages in this topic alone,  one could come to a conclusion..

At least Lenovo should,  but they usually blame it on the routers that are not supported by them .....

The problem with the network adapter is well known - https://communities.intel.com/thread/47983

In my opionion Lenovo should have been in contact with Intel and offered their "valuable customers" a warranty repair - however they have decided to neglect their customers and ignore their problems. Due to the fact Lenovo does not wish to resolve this defect with their product , a lot of users have replaced the defect hardware themselves which seems to have mostly resolved the problem.
