Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

It's related to the 17.1.0.19 driver, making that driver almost unusable.

Downgrade to 17.0.3.3 and the problem should disappear (it also seems to be the most stable driver to date)

Neither of the ones I linked are right then?

The Amazon one is no longer in stock, can anyone link me to a site that the correct card is for sale?

Many thanks

I tried, but the box to downgrade the driver is greyed out.  It won't let me roll back and when I try to upgrade it says I have the latest.

... try manually changing the driver by downloading it first to your computer and then go to device manager -> network adapters -> Intel Wireless Driver -> Update driver -> Browse my computer for driver software (and direct towards the downloaded driver)

I tried that too.  I downloaded the Kona Wireless Driver update that is the most recent listed.  I used the browse my computer and directed it to that folder with all of its subfolders box checked, and it still says that the driver software is up to date.

I am strongly considering just spending 40 bucks for the newer wireless card because people here seem to be agreeing that it solves the issues and even speeds things up considerably, but I am worried about the possibility of voiding my warranty (I just have the one year that came with this thing).  Does anyone have experience with that?

Warranty is not a problem, if you work carefully.

Wrong drivers is a much bigger problem.

So delete your current drivers (this should not be greyed out), reboot the computer and install 17.0.3.3.

The newer 7260AC will make it more stable and also faster, but even with this card the wrong drivers can really fcuk up.

Where can I find the driver version 17.0.3.3? Also, if I delete the drivers software and the device (it warns it is deleting it from system), how will I be able to get online again to download the driver version 17.0.3.3?

Does anyone have a link to the correct wifi card that's in stock.

The correct drivers link would be great too, on my phone at work right now so I have limited access.

I admit that I never updated my drivers after installing the 7260AC
card. I stopped having problems, and have been afraid to touch it since.

Did you install it yourself or pay someone? I am also afraid I will inadvertently mess my new laptop up. Though it sounds like you just need to unscrew the back, remove the antenna connection, insert new card, put back antenna and close up.
