Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

2014-01-03, 23:43 PM

I use Apple Time Capsule as my main wireless router at home. I've had the dropout/limited WiFi issues with both the original single-band and AC dual-band cards, and nothing helped short of switching to 802.11g, which is not a solution.

As a last straw, I dug out my old Asus RT-N56U router and set that up. Have not had a single drop/issue for few days now, so now I have 7 devices on the Apple router and Yoga on the Asus. Not the best solution, but it works I guess.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

Has anyone noticed the DPC latency issue due to the wifi card drivers. This causes audio crackles and pops, when using an external soundcard. it only happens when im using the internet. The problem is mostly due to ndys.sys (Network Driver Interface Specification). I've tried everything for this. Disabling HT mode, Disabling the ''disconnect wifi to save power option''. Boosting my pc to its maximum power with every tweaks in my bag. Drivers/windows updates. I'm still having this issue.

Does this happen with the 7260 AC dual band wifi card, I might just replace the stock one.

You can see this issue using the Latencymon program ; http://latencymon.soft112.com/

-run the scan for a few minutes while browsing on internet

-go in the drivers tab and sort by Highest execution(ms)

-see if the ndys.sys commes up (over 1.0 ms is veryverybad)

I'm a Dj and I use this laptop for my work, The bar I work at has wifi, and I do use it for any special requests I don't have...IT IS very annoying to have an audio pop go threw the speakers when using wifi. I paid 1780$ for this laptop and this is annoying me...

Thankyou if you have any hints on fixing this / does it do this to everyone else?

I really don't know what to do. Every 30 min my wifi drops. I already updated all my drivers and power savings turned off. I mean, is there a solution for the issue or I should just return the laptop ? I already tried to call lenovo customer service twice and they don't know what to do, they always "try to update my drivers" and nothing works.

thank you

Those drivers literally halve my speeds relative to the 16.5.3.6 version. I'm not going to stick with them long enough to find out if they solve the dropout issues, but either way, it's still a sub par solution.

This is just embarrassing for Intel...

Same here. The Beta drivers are the most stable for my laptop so far. No other drivers have lasted my 24 hour connection test except for this one.

Lenovo Y470: i7-2670QM | 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM | Nvidia GeForce GT 550M | 500 GB 7200 RPM Seagate HDD | ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Network Adapter | Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

It's really frustrating reading of all the trouble folks are having. I had trouble with mine on a few access points early on, but the AC card and 16.6.0.8 driver have been rock solid for me -- no special configuration changes needed. It seems something else is going on. Bluetooth would disconnect, but a new Intel BT drover just came out and it fixed that issue.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

Already installed those drivers and I`m still getting wifi drops :(

I called customer service again and this is what they told me:

a) system recovery should work

b) call my router provider and change router settings/channel

c) send my pc to lenovo in Texas and change the wifi part of the pc

I really don`t think that a system recovery would solve the problem, am I wrong? And do you guys think that I need to change my router settings? I`m afraid It will mess my other devices that are currently working just fine with the wifi.
