Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

We had this discussion before. First, car companies install motors made by them and not from other manufacturers(from what I hear). Second, not only am I old enough to drive, but I am a certified Tech with 15 years experience. That said, I have helped those with wifi issues resolve their connections by implementing possible solutions with success.

So, did you check out Intel's site? You will find that Intel is aware of the issue and is working with Lenovo as well as other PC manufacturers. So please, either try finding solutions rather than waiting for someone to hold your hand and guide you through the process.

p.s. What do you propose Lenovo use for a WiFi card? Marvell?? Even worse!

I have no idea what they should use. I'm not a wireless networking engineer. What I do propose is using hardware that's similar to other PC builders, who's stuff WORKS. Apple no issues, older Lenovo no issues, HP no issues, etc. I've tried for HOURS to get it to work, with Lenovo support too, and been through every set of drivers known. I'm not arguing that it's not a driver problem, if it's Intel's issue, Lenovo should be DRIVING them to fix it.

Ok, debating on this forum solves nothing. Try the suggestions I have made and others in the past. Troubleshoot, experience, test, verify, etc. You all have brains, use it!

There's 86 pages of people that have tried stuff. Even on networks it COULD connect to, I'd see it dropping on/off all the time. Slow downloads for 5 minutes, then uber fast. This isn't anything that ANYONE HERE on these threads can try differently, it's an inherit issue with drivers or hardware. If you're getting a good expiernce, we're all happy for you, but as you move around to different networks, I doubt you'll be happy.

If you did your research, not all car companies make their own engine However, someone with your age should be able to see through the metaphor.

I have tried more fixes than anyone here. Even installed the new v17 driver which was the worst by far.

Also Broadcom is a good alternative. Heck, a dual band intel chip is better than this junk.

I will agree with you that a dual-band card should have been part of production. Is your router a single or dual band?

I have found the WiFi in the Y2P to be rubbish.  If I turned the Bluetooth off however, it came good.

Unfortunately I wanted to connect to bluetooth speakers...

So I slapped an Intel M.2 (2230) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 ($40) in, works perfectly.  A shame I had to do that to a brand new ultrabook to make it work.

I upgraded to the Intel 7260AC card also, dispite not haveing any issues with the default card. I did it just because I wanted an AC card.

My internet connection went from a high of 18Mbps to 28 Mbps. The addition of the 5Ghz band is also nice advantage. Though I do wish the AC card came standad, it was a worthwhile upgrade.

Even though I didn't have an issues with the default "N" card, too many people are and should be rectified. I know not everyone wants to upgrade to the AC card nor should they have to to get functioning WiFI.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

I have read all the comments now, and I cannot believe that is really happening. 87 PAGES and no recent Lenovo_Admin Post - Seriously!?

My brand new Yoga 2 Pro started with that today only. Now the so called Ultrabook requires minutes after login to fully function and give me internet for ten minutes...

Using my phone as wifi rooter works by the way. Using my router doesn't. But the router works perfectly for phone, iPad and another laptop.

God help us... commenting from my Dinosaur-Vaio which I moved to Yoga 2 Pro the whole day last saturday...

:robotmad:

-> I did everything from static ip and dns, driver update, driver unistallation etc. etc.

Nothing worked. The whole machine seems to have issues now. Everytime I reboot it something else happens, it takes forever, the antivirus doesn't load, the network area to view settings of the wifiadapter doesn't open, it say the service has temporarily stopped, the resolution and zoom changes.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
