Re: Yoga 2 pro sound problem

Guys, the speaker issue is a hardware issue. There is a little ball switch used to detect the headphones. In your situation, the switch is stuck in the inward position. You must unjam the switch.

How many of you guys are out of warranty.

Re: Yoga 2 pro sound problem

Hi,

My warranty is OK and I've bought it in USA (but I live in Brazil and can't
send it to Lenovo).

I'll try the sleep /tablet mode trick and also will try to unjam the ball

However, it's sad that Lenovo did not present any solution yet (keep saying
it's software issue)

Only the forum members are helping us here

Thanks

Re: Yoga 2 pro sound problem

Well in theory, you can try to unjam the switch. I have done it a few times by rapidly removing and plugging in a headphone jack until audio starts to play thought the speakers.

another way is to use a tooth-pick and LITTLE super glue.... but this is going to the extreme.

Another solution would be to create a software where one could use a hotkey to switch between both headphones and speakers.

Re: Yoga 2 pro sound problem

Hi

The rapid remove /insert of phone in the jack did not work for me

About the software, no one (so far) provided where this software should
change the sound from headphone to the speakers (I've already tried
register tweaks and nothing works). Even Linux users are experiencing
similar issues

Thank you

Re: Yoga 2 pro sound problem

I can make a hotkey switch if someone finds me a registry/cmd fix.

I might look into tonight. If I find something, I'll make a program and post it on my site.

...or I might just add it to the Yoga Patch with an option to enable the fix (for those with this issue).

Re: Yoga 2 pro sound problem

I don't have the pro, but I do have the yoga 2. I've had issues with the sound for a while now, and the screen too. My friend has the bigger version of mine (mines 11 inches) and she is having NONE of these problems. I bought mine as a certified refurbished. It was fine at first, but now if I'm using sound it will completely shut off, but keep playing without sound. It even occurs if I'm wearing headphones. The sound through the headphones just cuts off. It will only resume playing if I restart either whatever app I'm playing music from, or if I restart the laptop as a whole. And after I restart it, I usually have a grainy, flickering screen, so I have to restart it again. Please help! I really don't want to have to return my laptop, it was a great purchase except for these problems!

Re: Yoga 2 pro sound problem

Hello

About the sound, I would try to RMA it.

For the screen flickering issue you need to disable all Intel power saving
features (control panel, Intel display, power), because one of the features
changes the screen refresh from 60hz to 48hz (causing the flickering)
