Replacement Touch Screen for Lenovo Yoga

2014-04-25, 15:31 PM

My touchscreen cracked- but I bought a $200 insurence policy from Staples, which is where I purchase my computer (and I will NEVER do that again and I don't recommend it). The policy covered accidental damages, such as a cracked screen, but after jumping through hoop after hoop to file a claim, Staples called me saying that they won't fix it becuase it's too expensive, even though I bought insurence. They offered a refund for my computer, but I refused because I adore my Yoga.

I'm really hoping someone can point me in the direction of a third party repairer, or even somewhere where I can buy a replacement touchscreen and have someone like Geek Squad install it. Any suggestions?

$200 is a lot to charge for a never-pay insurance policy, I would ask them what sort of accident they do cover? In my experience, a cracked screen is the most common accident. The second most common is a liquid spill, which is more expensive. I would tell them I was going to file a complaint with the BBB. I assume you are in West Chester, PA. (That's the only West Chester I know) Also tell them you are going to file a complaint with the PA Attorney Generals office and if they stick to their story, follow through. BTW, I needed a price once for a similar repair I didn't end up doing, and I found screens ran about $350 from China.

Get the refund for the computer and buy yourself another yoga. I would even request for the old machine back, make a OKR image. Then nuck reformat the hdd and give it back to staples for a full refund. Once done, restore the new yoga with the image you made.
