I want to upgrade the SSD storage (256GB) of my laptop to 1 TB. Its SSD model is “TOSHIBA_THNSNH256GMCT” and I want to replace it with “Samsung 860 EVO 1TB mSATA Internal SSD (MZ-M6E1T0BW)”.
My laptop Model is Yoga 2 Pro Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 80AY
Does anybody know that it is compatible with my system or not?
Is there any limit for the capacity of storage for my device?
I found that Samsung MZMTD256HAGM mSATA 256G SSD is equivalent of my current SSD. But I don't know other models of Samsung brand.
Which item is important in replacing SSD?
Thanks for your kind attention

Welcome to the Community Forums.
As per HMM specification: SSD supported capacity 4 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB. One in particular PN 16200355 SSD, Samsung PM841-512GB mSATA SSD (page 62).
There are reported issues of non detection to other variants but other members were able to upgrade with 1TB mSATA with their Y2P but not specific to 80AY models.
It is a bit long but it sure is a good reference. It shows how the BIOS can be critical of the upgrade. ALways check on return options if you have plans of purchase just in case.
I hope this helps answer your query.
