I have a Yoga 710-15IKB (I am not sure what version specifically. It has a fingerprint scanner, 15.6 inches, intel i5 7th gen.
Recently I noticed some sort of electronic static or grinding noise when I 2-finger scroll on the track pad. It mostly happens when the power adaptor is in use.
I think it still makes the noise every so often even when not plugged in or using the track pad, just much quieter.
What causes this? Is it anything to worry about? I bought the laptop last summer from Best Buy. It is still under warranty for a couple months.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Could be some built up static in the unit.
Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
Are there any other issues with the unit? If you feel that it could be something serious, then it would be best to send it off to the Lenovo team to investigate, in case it turns out to be something.
