Suggestion: Battery Threshold for Yoga C940

2020-01-27, 0:55 AM

The ThinkPads have this feature where the user can set percentages for the battery to stop charging at. This is a very useful feature to prolong the lifetime battery of the laptop. This feature is extremely important to me and I am very disappointed that it is not available on the Yoga series. Yes, there is conservation mode, but that is not practical for me as I need the full battery life of the laptop without having to charge midday. Just like most, if not all, Dell laptops have the battery threshold feature where the user can specify percentages, Lenovo Yogas should have it too. I expect this in a $3000 laptop, and it's almost a deal breaker.

The feature is available on the C940 and may be activated by Lenovo Vantage.
It limits charge to 59-60%.

That's not exacly what he means tho, what he (and other users like me would like) is to set exactly at what percent we always want our laptops to stop charging at. While 55-60% is ok, it's not ideal if one would actually want it to go to up to 80% or so as an example. Full control up to what percent we want it charged would be great for the c940.

A workaround is to set the Conservation Mode to ON when you reach the percentage you want to stop charging at.
