The battery capacity has been degraded. Please replace a new one.

2020-06-01, 16:18 PM

Hi, I just bought my laptop 3 days ago. And been through 2 charge cycles. In the Lenovo Vantage settings, its telling me "The battery capacity has been degraded. Please replace a new one."

And when I turn on Conservation Mode, its telling me "The battery installed is not supported by the system and will not charge. Please replace the battery with the correct Lenovo battery for this system."

I'm worried and concerned if there is anything wrong with the laptop as I just got it only and its new. Attached below are the screenshot of the things I see shown up.

Anyone who knows whats going on please do provide some help. Or do I have to contact Lenovo Care Support regarding this issue. Thank you.

Where did you buy it? Was it an authorized Lenovo retailer? You could try reaching out to Lenovo with all your laptop and purchase info

Truthfully, though, if I ran into this issue after just a couple of days of purchasing a 'supposedly' new laptop, I would just return it for a full refund.

Hi, I've tried the methods. Power cycle, uninstalling battery driver as well as reinstalling Lenovo Vantage App. The message of "The battery capacity has been degraded. Please replace a new one." has been resolved to "The battery is in good condition.".

However, the message "The battery installed is not supported by the system and will not charge. Please replace the battery with the correct Lenovo battery for this system." is still showing in Conservation Mode.

Please advise accordingly on what to do next. Thank you.

Hi, I've tried the link. I can't find the Lenovo Power Manager in my System Devices. Below attached is what I see when I go System Devices in Device Manager.

I also have the same problem with my Lenovo Yoga C640

The following are steps that I have taken while trying to resolve this battery status problem:
-  I have tried uninstalling the battery driver and Lenovo Vantage, then install Lenovo vantage again, the text still appears "The battery installed is not supported by the system and will not charge".
- RunDLL error message about PWMTR64V.dll
- Perform a power drain
- Calibrate the battery (I need 20 hours to do this)
- Update bios
- Update Windows

and none of the above steps solve the problem

sometimes the battery status says "The battery is in good condition." But the status will change to "The battery installed is not supported by the system and will not charge" when I turn on conservation mode
