Thinkpad X1 Yoga Screen has white marks

2017-05-16, 23:22 PM

I've noticed that my Thinkpad X1 Yoga (3 months old?) has developed white streaks on the screen. THey are equally spaced from the lower windows button and then extend up and towards the center of the screen - I'm guessing a defect of the LCD screen? Can anyone help diagnose the problem. See attached photo.

Hello CNevay

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Definitely looks like screen backlight bleeding through.

Check if this is present in the BIOS, if it is, then I would recommend that you get in touch with your local Lenovo support line for a possible service. Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you have a link for directions on how to test this in the BIOS?

Just enter the BIOS, this is usually F2, or F11, F12, sometimes even Delete buttons, this should be shown when you start up the unit, it should show you which button you need to press to enter the BIOS.

Once you are there, just observe if you can see the bleeding still, if yes, then it would indicate a hardware issue.

In which case, I would recommend, that you call your local Lenovo support line for a possible service. Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
