"This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

2021-02-21, 6:52 AM

I've been having repeating problems with connecting to the internet with my Yoga C940 14". The first time (after 2 days of turning it on for the first time) I called support and they directed me to update my 'Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz', and I continued to do this each time the internet would disconnect (about 3 more times).

Right now the update does not work and says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" (a month has not passed).

I'm disappointed that I'm having these problems so soon after buying this laptop.

Please let me know what I can do to get the internet going again and have fewer problems with it in the future.

Welcome to the Community Forums @DeeGab!

Nice to have you here!

Try to download the Intel Wi-Fi driver through this link and restart the device then test if it will get disconnected again.

Also, download the latest BIOS and Intel Chipset driver for your Yoga C940 as well.

You may also load the BIOS settings into defaults by pressing FN and F9 followed by FN and F10 on your keyboard.

Make sure that the Yoga C940 is turned OFF before pressing the Novo button hole that's found underneath the machine.

Should the steps above didn't get the job done, it would be advisable to get in touch with our Lenovo phone support

at 877-453-6686 or click this link instead and enter your Yoga C940's serial number for other options and for them to check its warranty entitlement as this may seem a possible hardware concern and may require repairs for it to work/function properly again.
