Tons of problems with Yoga Book (Windows edition)

2017-01-03, 1:09 AM

Hi all and happy new year!

I got a new Lenovo Yoga Book (Windows) and I'm shocked with the amount of problems i'm facing. Keep in mind i switched from Mac recently by getting first a Surface Book that works amazing + a $45 windows tablet that also works with no issues at all.

I'm literally shocked with the amount of problems i've had with Lenovo (wish I knew) and how bad their support is.

Let me start (keep in mind i'm not a windows epxert so if you have any solution please explain in details - really appreciated)

1. Split screen on tablet mode won't work. When i try to split screen the screen goes crazy (upside down) and then goes back to full screen (support told me that spil screen on tablet mode is a windows 8 feauture - LOL.)

2. Mic is not working all the time - many times when I restart it won't just work and therefore cortana doesn't work which I love

3. Laptop won't go to sleep. I close the lid and then i can still hear the notifications sound going on. the other night i charged it and woke up to 0 battery (i read the forum here and that many people have the same issue)

4. Also the problem of not waking up many times. I press the power button and nothing. it seems plugin it in might work - not 100% sure.

These are the main problems.I've tried all the basics, as updating windows, updating drivers through device manager, checkin on power/sleep settings etc.

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

Big thanks and happy new year again!

Wish I could help. I came here looking for answers to all the same questions plus problems with the touchpad being very inconsistent. So far, no luck. The microphone disappearing is a real pain. Only way I can get it to work is if I uninstall the audio device and restart. Works for a while and the it's gone. Good grief. Not what I was expecting and thinking it may be time to get in the return line. I want to like it but it really shouldn't be this hard.

I agree. Terrible experience from me. Their customer service is hideous. I want to like it as well to my suprise a $45 tablet i got from microsoft works 100% on everything and it's even faster. How is that even possible? I think they even charge a restocking fee. it's ridicilous. Learned my lesson. Not buying from them again!

Because Lenovo has never tested it before release. The first testing is performed on you, customers :smileyfrustrated: These are recurring issues, buggy BIOS and device drivers.

Especially the issue #4 (wake up from sleep mode) is there for almost every Lenovo tablet device. The reason is still the same: buggy or outdated device drivers or beta-grade BIOS. But these devices sells ...

It usually takes about 6 months to deliver first so so working versions of device drivers and BIOS but in some cases like Yoga 2 10 tablet Lenovo has actually never solved any basic functionality issue even after two years.

Lenovo delivers Android-grade "quality" (users widely accepts that nothing works on that platform) to Windows users which apparently does not work.

Confirm that there is a problem! I even encountered a disabled LTE module. The problem is not solved at all. Lenovo makes an appearance, that is no problem at all. New drivers do not. Those that eat in the "downloads" section, badly outdated.

Does anyone from the company sees these forums. I have a couple friends working for Engadget and The Verge. I want to see if they want to write about it. This is ridiculous!
