Touch Screen is not working on Yoga 2 11 Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 80CX

Wondering if anyone can assist.  Upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago and the touch screen was working fine and within the last month it stopped functioning.  I have googled many help topics, and many suggest that I access my Device manager and click on the Human Interface Devices section find  HID-compliant touch screen.  The only problem is the HID-compliant touch screen is not listed as an option.  Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this issue?

Hi there, Barkley         -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Can you try to:

  1. Turn the computer OFF, press the One Key Recovery buttonand select BIOS Setup Utility
  2. On the BIOS screen, press F9 to load setup defaults and press F10 to save and exit.
  3. When you get back to Windows, try to recalibrate the Touchscreenand test.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Touch Screen is not working on Yoga 2 11 Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 80CX

Thank you for your reply.  When I get back to Windows I'm unable to recalibrate the touch screen.  The link provided is for Windows 8 and I'm running Windows 10, so there is not an option for Tablet PC Settings to calibrate.  Any other suggestions?

Re: Touch Screen is not working on Yoga 2 11 Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 80CX

Can you try to run the app below and reboot the PC.

TouchScreen Firmware Upgrade
1353211.exe
497KB

After rebooting, try to recalibrate the Touchscreen and test.

If touchscreen still doesn't work, I recommend you contact lenovo for service as there's probably a defect on the digitizer (touch panel).

Update us how it goes.

Re: Touch Screen is not working on Yoga 2 11 Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 80CX

Hi Mr_Barkley,

In addition to what Shashi have mention, you could also try to try the Touchscreen functionality in the OKR environment.

You can get into the OKR Environment by pressing the Novo button while the system is turned off. Then select System Recovery. Once inside the OKR Environment, you should be able to use the touchscreen.

If this works, the problem may lie on the OS level and you may need to do System Recovery to correct the issue.

If this doesn't work then please contact warranty support for service.

Thank you,
