Touch screen not working!

2021-10-13, 3:04 AM

Hi... the touchscreen on my Yoga 530-14IKB Laptop (ideapad) is not working!!! What can I do?

It stopped working earlier today (October 12th, 2021)

I've been very displeased with my Lenovo experience... I deeply regret getting one :/

Hello @ Mariana Jrz !

Welcome to the Community Forums!

Just to ask, did you make any changes to your Yoga 530 laptop before the touchscreen started not to work?

Also, please share here your Yoga 530 laptop's MTM (machine type-model) number for us to check its specifications as this would help us detail more about your machine variant while keeping the confidentiality of your serial number.

It can be seen through the device's label/sticker or its original packaging and does usually have a format of 8********R as an example.

Here's a link as well that contains additional methods in obtaining your device's details.

Aside from that, please share here its current BIOS version/date.

Press Windows + R key then type in msinfo32 to open the System Information window and get the details from there.

Thanks,

Adriel_Lenovo

Hola.

Mi pantalla táctil no funciona. Desde el 2/3/21 que se actualizó dejó de funcionar. He probado a reinstalar controladores y no se soluciona. También tengo problemas con el lector de huella. Con una actualización dejó de funcionar y da error. .

Thanks for providing your device's details @ Mariana Jrz !

Try to do a power drain to your Yoga 530 laptop first by pressing and holding its Power button for 10 to 15 seconds until it turns OFF.

Once done, power ON the Yoga 530 laptop again and test the touchscreen if it will now work.

Aside from that, go to Device Manager by right-clicking on Start/Windows symbol and from there, click on View and select "Show hidden devices".

Once selected, click the arrow next to Human Interface Devices tab and see if the HID-compliant touchscreen driver is in there.

Should you see the driver, right-click on it, select Properties then head to Driver tab.

From there, click "Uninstall Device" then, restart the Yoga 530 laptop in order for Windows to reinstall the correct drivers.

After that, test its touchscreen again.

Also, update the Yoga 530 laptop's BIOS, GPU and Intel Chipset drivers.

Restart the machine again afterwards then see if the touchscreen will now work.

Update us how it goes.

Thanks,

@Adriel_lenovo ... I tried what you said and it isn't working... Seriously, I'm having the worst experience with Lenovo... I know you have nothing to do with it but still...
The cherry on top is the touch screen not working. I did as you said: uninstall device from the driver's tab on HID-compliant touchscreen... It was installed again but still not working... I also updated the bios, gpu and chipset... One of those did not update cause apparently is not compatible... Please help me! You've been doing it, I know... but help me until it works properly again, please...

Thanks for the update @ Mariana Jrz !

Please click on this link to see the steps on how to use the Lenovo Digital Download Recovery Service or DDRS in order to reinstall Windows OS on your device.

Make sure to backup your files first to avoid data loss.

Also, please note of the system hardware prerequisites below as well:

  • 16GB or larger USB key, USB 2.0 or 3.0 key (Note: all data on the USB key will be deleted)
  • A computer to download the recovery files and create the USB recovery key
  • At least 20GB of free space for downloading recovery files
  • Microsoft Windows® 7 or later
  • 20 Mbps Internet connection (recommended)

Should the touchscreen still didn't work, you may get in touch with our Lenovo phone/technical support in your region for further recommendations towards this especially if there's a possible hardware concern that would require further testing of the machine or repairs for it to work properly again.

Please click on this link to get their contact details and provide them the Yoga 530 laptop's serial number for them to check its warranty entitlement.

Thanks,
