Touch screen stopped working on Yoga 720- 15IKB

I had purchased this device in August 2017 and has been working wonderfully. I noticed last month that my touch screen had stopped working. I have tried a lot of things that I found online to try and fix this but the touch screen has not started working yet.

 

I have tried the following:

  1. Uninstall HID-compliant touch screen drivers from Device Manager
  2. Disable and Enable HID-compliant touch screen driver from Device Manager
  3. Roll back the latest Windows 10 update
  4. Uninstall Wacom driver from Device Manager

I have noticed a lot of complaints regarding the non functioning of the touch screen on Yoga 720 model but these have been issues with brand new models.

 

I am out of warranty and the touch screen had been working perfectly fine for a better part of the year and a half that I have owned this device.

 

Any help to fix my touch screen would be greatly appreciated.

If you own a stylus, is it still working? I've seen multiple people complaining about the touch screen not working (but the stylus still worked), me included. I just think Lenovo f***ed up an update and they'll fix it sooner or later.

Same here. Recent Windows update seems to have broken the Touch Screen drivers - pen still works. It would be nice if Lenovo at least acknowledged the problem.

Good to know others are experiencing this too. Will be waiting for a fix from Microsoft :/

I agree with the acknowledgment. At least let us know this is being looked into. It's happening to many Yoga users....

speaks volume for the type of support you can expect from this company

I got it to work. I just had to install 7 different retail versions of windows and not update it. Yes the driver still fails I just have to uninstall scan for hardware changes. use it a few times then reload the drivers

Hello everyone.

 

It´s solved!!!!!!!! and many other little problems!!!!!!

 

After a lot of time I have solved my touchscreen and hotkeys problems, it was about Win10 version, drivers and BIOS config.

 

1rst. UDATE to win10 last version

 

https://www.microsoft.com/es-es/software-download/windows10 

 

2nd. Go to LENOVOS driver checksum webpage tool.

 

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/mx/es/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-720-15ikb/80x7/80x7009glm/mp1cf9c0/downloads/automatic-driver-update

 

3rd. Check that the Hotkey is enable in the BIOS config, use the VANTAGE button to get the BIOS configuration.

 

4th. If the video card is not working properly go to https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/fcy603af.exe and run the executable file.

 

5th. Finally go to DIVECE MANAGER and uncheck the “power saver” in the “HID I2C” properties window.

 

People, it will take some time, but your Lenovo will work as you know it!
