USB C Port Not Working

I am having issues with the far USB C Port.  The one closest to the screen. I notice one day that my Yoga 920 is no longer charging with the rear USB C port.  I also try plugging in devices and none of them will work.  I have tried the following:  I have completely reset my computer deleting everything.  I got it to load back up and the USB C port is still unresponsive.  I tried uninistalliing all usb drivers in device manager and no luck.  I notice one thing.  If I take a USB C cable and plug it in both ports to each other.  In device manager the following shows up:

Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)

USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)

Also the following are showing up with no device is connected:

Universal Serial Bus Controllers

Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)

USB Composite Device

USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)

USB  Connector Managers

UCM-UCSI ACPI Device

Thanks for your time.

Re: USB C Port Not Working

Hi rick9206,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I assume that your are now just using the remaining battery charge. You can also check the charger if it is also affected following the guideline here (page 21) if possible.

If this shows ok then proceed normally charging it with the original charger plugged without powering the laptop for 2-3 hours and try to notice any change (battery indicator page 27). We expect the led change from amber to white to know if charging is accepted.

If still the same then we can assume probable hardware failure on the port itself and not the USB C functionality since the other USB C works. Proceed in calling the technical support team for recommendation.

Chat team would also be available during business hours.

You may also have them refer to our post here in the Community since you have clearly described the case already.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Update us how it goes.

Regards
