USB-C to USB-A adapter for Yoga 920

Hi.

Recently I bought a Lenovo Yoga 920 ultrabook. It has only one USB-A port, so I naively bought the cheapest USB-C to USB-A adapter I could find in the nearest electronics store... and naturally it didn't work. My question is, which one would work for sure? I heard that the Apple adapter works, but it's a bit pricey. Are there any cheaper alternatives? For example, Amazon UK offers an Anker adapter: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Adapter-Transfer-Compatible-MacBook/dp/B078NKPGW9. But of course I have no idea if this one would work or not...

Any suggestions?

I suppose it would work, but it's not sold anywhere in my country (I live in Estonia). Amazon won't ship it here either. There are some sellers at Ebay, but their shipping costs are lethal.

So it's basically unavailable to me.

Yes, they seem to have it, but the price is outrageous. Almost thrice as much as the US price! Even the Apple adapter is sold cheaper here.

Still looking for something a bit less expensive...

I've used an Aukey adapter with my Y900s. I bought that adapter from Amazon. I see that Amazon now also sells an AmazonBasics adapter. I don't know why these adapters wouldn't work providing you use them for conventional USB 3 functions like data transfer and 5V 0.5A power.

What device(s) do you want to plug into this adapter? There's no way any of them can support full USB-C functionality like power at 12V or 20V, or digital displays, etc.

Re: USB-C to USB-A adapter for Yoga 920

Thank you. I want to plug in just ordinary devices, external hard disks, e-readers, flash drives, nothing fancy. I'll look into your recommendations. Thanks again.
