Re: Updated Yoga 13 to Windows 8.1 - Now No Video or Audio in Installed Apps

I did the update yesterday morning.  No missing audio or video drivers.  Audio works fine, though I feel the screen is a bit blurry in text.  Downgraded to the origional driver with same results.  Looking further into this.

As for missing drivers, I was missing the Intel Thermal drivers.  Those are both in your OEM drivers folder, as well as on the web.  http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS031992

I also had to go into BIOS and enable "Secure Boot" so I would no longer have the lower right hand corner of the desktop say "Secureboot isn't configured correctly"

Ok, fixed the blurry text.  Comment #6

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Microsoft-to-Fix-Blurry-Text-Bug-in-Windows-8-1-RTM-Rumor-373205.shtml

1. Right-click on Desktop and select "Screen resolution" option.

2. Now click on "Make text and other items larger or smaller" link.

3. It'll open "Display" settings page. You can also directly open "Display" window by selecting "Personalize" option from Desktop context menu and then click on "Display" link given at the bottom of left-sidebar.

4. Now enable "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays" option and apply the changes.

5. Restart your system and your problem will be fixed.

Hey guys i found what appears to be a permanent solution. Go to this link to the lenovo downloads page.

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?selector=expand

Then on Category click audio, then click on the "Conexant Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) - IdeaPad Yoga 13" download link. Updates pretty quick, then you restart your YOGA's and their good to go. It worked for me.

I upgraded to 8.1 on my Yoga 13 last night and discovered Netflix wasn't working.  Seems to be the same problem as described on this thread; i.e. the Conexant audio driver.  I did as "thejwal94" suggested, downloaded 0tau20ww.exe from the site, installed it, then rebooted.  Voila!  Netflix works again, both in the Metro app and in the browser.

FYI, before discovering this thread I started a chat with Netflix to see if they could resolve the problem.  They now have this thread URL in their support notes so hopefully other users who call Netflix may get directed to this solution.

All I could find for the Yoga were the Windows 8 drivers.  The one on the Lenovo website was newer than the one I uninstalled.  The new one is version 8.54.47.51, 23 Oct 2012. You can find it here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS031971

The only other problem I had with the 8.1 upgrade - at least so far - was the fuzzy look of the display which was fixed when I changed the display to medium, 125% in the control panel.

Clarification to my last post:  I have confirmed that the solution to the blurry text problem provided by Ezekial in his message at ?10-18-2013 06:00 PM works for me as well.

In addition, the solution for the video/audio problem (reinstalling the Conexant driver) as articulated by thejwal94 in his message at ?10-19-2013 12:48 AM works for me.

@michaelracelli ... the solution for the video/audio problem offered by  thejwal94 in his message at ?10-19-2013 12:48 AM provides the instructions.  All that's needed is to download the driver from the Lenovo site, install it (by double clicking on it to run it), and then reboot.  As noted in my previous message, the specific driver filename I downloaded from the site was 0tau20ww.exe and it worked for me.  It should work for you too.

@sorkinwood ... the driver you found is dated 23 October 2012 (not 2013) ... so it's a year old.  It's the one I downloaded and installed and it fixed my audio/video problem.  Try it.

This helped me too
