Upgrade Intel 8260 WiFi to Intel 8265 on Yoga 900? (Whitelists Suck!)

My Yoga 900 13isk 80MK came with an Intel 8260 wifi card, Lenovo Part# SW10A11647.  When I look up the part on the official Lenovo Part Lookup page, it lists Intel 01AX704 (Lenovo Part# SW10K97453) as a "Substitute" and "Equivalent" part.

However, when I look up 01AX704 in Parts Lookup, my Yoga is not listed as compatible.

So.....anyone have any idea whether this 8265 would work in my 900?  Here are the listed compatible models;

The answer to this question is.......YES!  The Yoga 900 takes the Intel 8265.

I bought mine from an ebay vendor, "happyshinelife", in China, for $32.90.  I paid an extra 99 cents for quicker shipping.  Received it in California in 10 days.

I should also add that my WiFi connection is more reliable. I used to have ongoing problems with 5G networks (all of them in the area would drop at the same time) suddenly disappearing and having to turn off wifi and turn it back on to get them back.

Also had BAD problems with screen mirroring with both a Microsoft Display Adapter as well as Chromecast. The signal would drop and become distorted for no apparent reason. Only fix was a reboot.

Things are more stable now.....didn't have any disconnects with my MS Display adapter over several hours last night, which has NEVER happened in the past.

If these problems sound familiar to you.....get the 8265. It was an easy install.

Be careful ordering parts (like these WiFi cards) from non-approved vendors.
Manufacturers now tattoo approved serial number ranges for parts like WiFi and Bluetooth cards into the BIOS. If you try to install a card not in the approved range it won't work.

Yes, this is VERY true, especially when ordering from China.  But this one worked, which is why I listed the vendor name.  I've been burned before with counterfeits, etc.

Of course, since Lenovo is HORRIBLE at stocking parts, you have to look to other sources.  Lenovo has been out of stock on this for a long time.  Don't believe them when they say there is an anticipated arrival date 30 days out.  The anticipated date stays at 30 days out.  I would have much rather bought from Lenovo, but I don't know when or if they will ever have it in stock.  So I gambled on an eBay seller with a good reputation.
