Newbie here...will the Yoga 2 Pro accept an additional SSD?

Thanks for the photos and information.

Am a brand new owner of a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro.  My first Windows machine.  Have only owned Mac's since the mid 80's. However, the Yoga will be running Ubuntu Mint before the month is out.

Does the Yoga 2 Pro accommodate two SSD's or just the 'regular' Yoga models?  I would like to add a Crucial M550.  Would be nice to have two drives in the Yoga; if not then I guess I will be pulling my 128 and replacing it.

Thanks!

Nope

And Linux has tendency of hard-blocking the WIFI. The official word from Lenovo is that they do not support Linux and that installing it voids the warranty. This is what was posted in another thread.

Re: Newbie here...will the Yoga 2 Pro accept an additional SSD?

Thanks for the speedy reply! Sorry to hear that I can't run two SSD's in
the Pro. [?] In that case the 128 will be out and a 512 will go in.

Regarding the warranty.....I bought my Yoga 2 Pro used. It was built on
9/30/13. If I have any warranty (is it transferable?) it will most likely
expire soon.

I thought I read somewhere that replacing the wifi card will alleviate or
eliminate those issues. And of course swapping out the wifi card will
probably void my warranty also.

I don't think the warranty will transfer. However, it is probably expired by now.

...and yes, the pro is not a pro in this department.

Re: Newbie here...will the Yoga 2 Pro accept an additional SSD?

well I never *said* it wasn't a *"Pro"*. C'mon what makes a MacBook Pro a
*Pro*? Just a name.

I am not concerned about the warranty issue but was kind of disappointed
(at least initially) that I could have two SSD's tucked away in there.

I am impressed by the build quality of the Yoga. It is very Apple-like;
and I mean that in a good way.

I am also learning how to use Windows 8.1. I like it until I have to start
using more traditional Windows features. Then I get frustrated.

OTOH this Lenovo site looks like ti will be a good resource...and most
likely used quite a bit. I also found the ubuntu/linux section and started
reading some of the postings there.

Re: Newbie here...will the Yoga 2 Pro accept an additional SSD?

What the hell?  I just spent 20 minutes trying to get my Microsoft soft sculpt mouse to connect via bluetooth to my Yoga Pro 2.

No luck.  So back on line and I am discovering that this is a HUGE issue.  And that Lenovo has not resolved it yet.

I don't want to waste one of my usb ports with a dongle for a mouse.  I want to connect my mouse to the Yoga via bluetooth.  That doesn't seem like an unreasonable request.   Is this why people are swapping out the bluetooth chipset?  I might expect this sort of performance from a $299 Acer POS laptop.  But from, what is should be, the top-of-th-line Yoga?  Have I overlooked a trick or patch or some way to resolve this?

Frustrated.  Beginning to think that maybe this thing maybe going back onto Craigslist.   Disappointing.  I so wanted this thing to work!
