Upgrading from Yoga 2 to Yoga 3, or 4

2021-04-13, 3:02 AM

I have a Yoga 2 that died. I verified that the data and system on the SSD is in tack, and readable.  My question is, can I simply take the existing SSD with operation system from Yoga 2 Pro, and install it into a Yoga 3 or 4, and run an update system/driver utility to [upgrade] the operating system?

Thanks, very much. I was hoping. I am going to simply buy another used Yoga 2 and 'drop' my 1TB SSD into it. There are just too many legacy applications that I don't want to re-install and re-register. This is one of two laptops I have, and it is the backup.

Again, I appreciate your help.

No, it simply won't work.

Transfer the data by all means but the OS will require completely different drivers. I have tried something similar in the past and it just completely screws up your old drive as windows ties itself in knots.
