Re: Upgrading the RAM and hard drive on Lenovo yoga 700

Hi Kenbimmer,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you have the machine number from the sticker (MTM) or check it here so we can be specific on the Yoga 700 variant model you have. It would appear similar to 80NU0000US

YOGA 700-11ISK has 8GB max / 1866MHz LPDDR3, soldered to systemboard so no upgrades and storage is M.2 Solid State Drive (SSD), via M.2 card slot upgradable for increase capacity as it has no SATA slot.

YOGA 700-14ISK has 8GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, one 204-pin SO-DIMM socket (if you already have 8 GB on the slot the it is already the maximum recommended RAM.

Storage Smiley Frustratedome: SSHD with 8GB NAND fl ash memory , Some: SSD / SATA 6.0Gb/s, 2.5" wide, 5mm high so you can replace it with a faster SATA SSD 2.5 for upgrade.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Update us how it goes on your end.

Regards

Re: Upgrading the RAM and hard drive on Lenovo yoga 700

Your memory is soldered to the motherboard.

Memory:
8 GB max / 1866MHz LPDDR3, soldered to systemboard

Reference:

http://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/Lenovo%20Tablets%20_%20Convertibles/Lenovo%20Yoga%20700%20(1...

It has a special name LPDDR3.  GOOGLE search it for best understanding.

Hi Kenbimmer,

Sorry to say but the RAM is not upgradable as you can see here on the actual motherboard, they are soldered.

Only way to change it is to replace the entire board which is not economically sound.
