Vantage app updates: Stuck between "downloading" and "installing"

Hello everyone.

I am facing a strange issue with the Lenovo Vantage app on my Yoga 720. 

I tried searching for new updates and suddenly the app has indefinitely stuck at "2%" installing, even though it never downloaded the updates. It is stuck and I have tried everything, deleting and reinstalling the app, deleting and reinstalling the Lenovo Update Interface, but NOTHING seems to fix this! Here is a photo of the issue. What can be done about this? Somehow, there must be a way for the app to "forget" that it has searched for updates...

Welcome to the forum.

 

Do you happen to remember which updates Lenovo Vantage found before you clicked on Install? If you do you may want to try to install them manually using the Support section of Lenovo's website. Even if you don't remember what Vantage was trying to install, the software downloads page for your Y720 will show the dates of all updates so you could install/reinstall the most recent ones first. Hopefully once you install whatever update was getting stuck in Vantage, this issue will stop happening.

 

I understand that this isn't the "right" way to fix this problem, but it may be the most expedient.

Thank you for your reply. I have deleted SIF, reinstalled the app, deleted the IM controller folder, and that seems to have fixed the issue for now!
