Welcome in lenovo community,
To connect Yoga 900 to an external monitor, you can use the Type-C Port,
Native display port 1.2 Video output
VGA/HDMI output using Type-C VGA/HDMI adapter

That will probably depend on the particular manufacturer getting it "right".
This one (for example) claims Mac and Windows compatibility. I just tested it on my Yoga 900 and it seems to work fine.
USB TYPE-C COMPATIBLE with Mac or Windows computers equipped with a USB 3.1 Type C port such as the new 2015 MacBook, Google Chromebook Pixel, Lenovo Yoga 900 13", and ASUS Zen AiO PC
Not an endorsement, just an example.

I bought this adapter to connect my Yoga 900 to an external monitor: http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/club3d-usb-type-c-to-hdmi-14a-3d-active-...
As soon as I connect the adapter to the USB-C-port of the Yoga I get the error message "Power Surge on Hub Port: A USB device has exceeded the power limits". Re-installing the USB-drivers doesn't help. The problem stays and I cannot use the Yoga with an external monitor.
Can someone help?

The link I posted above still works for me and shows stock. Is that what you're looking for?

Both of the products we've linked above are available @ Amazon.ca and probably other places as well.
