What is Lenovo Virtual Keyboard ? Yoga 3-14

2016-06-05, 22:38 PM

I have a device manager device warning for the Lenovo Virtual Keyboard. The manager says the driver is corrupted and will not load. Everything seems to work. The touchscreen keyboard comes up when I ask from the lower taskbar.  It sometimes comes up on some web sites and some entry areas. I have no problem with how it works right now. The device manager should not have a device that is not loading or have a driver that is corrupt.

Hi one2lose ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you be able to get the hardware ID of that device?

Some software apps (example : lenovo settings) have added features that may have automatically updated that tries to check on the laptop components like a virtual keyboard (common on mobile phones) that project to any flat surface else can just be referring to onscreen keyboard.

You can initially create a system restore point then proceed to the device manager to get the hardware ID and uninstall then restart .

Update us how things go.

Regards

It was a software device. I uninstalled the driver and it never returned.

While I have removed the driver warning, I still do not know what it was. Also, where it came from or if I might have a need for it to be properly installed on this Yoga. I do not see any instalation drivers or program on the main Yoga 3-14 page. This probably is not a big deal.

Hi one2lose ,

Greetings.

As soon as you can you use your laptop efficiently as the demand for your need, I believe that it is not really harmless and just incase there is a need to restore , One Key Recovery option can refresh everything the way it was originally on your pc .
