Will The Precision Pen 2 Work With My Yoga 7-14ITL5?

2021-09-17, 4:49 AM

As the title says, I'm wondering if the Precision Pen 2, which is an AES 2.0 stylus, would work on my current laptop. I've contacted support and searched a lot but there are so many blanks to the information I get. Lenovo doesn't state anything clearly, and anything I have gotten told from support has been contradictory so I want to ask someone who may have experience with actually using these products.

Welcome to the Community Forums @ MaiTra !

Glad to have you posting here!

Please share here your Lenovo Yoga 7 laptop's MTM (machine type-model) number for us to check its specifications as this would help us detail more about your machine variant while keeping the confidentiality of your serial number.

It can be seen through the device's label/sticker or its original packaging and does usually have a format of 8********R as an example.

Here's a link as well that also contains additional methods in obtaining your device's details.

Thanks,

Adriel_Lenovo

The MTM is 82BH009WCF Also I have contaacted support before and have already gotten the answer "The Lenovo Digital Pen is the only pen that show up on Lenovo SmartFind so it is the only compatible pen". That is wrong because the pen is an AES 1.0 pen and I've watched a video of someone using a completely different Lenovo pen (Lenovo Active Pen) on this exact model and if this laptop supports AES, more pens would show up because Lenovo has more than one AES 1.0 pen, so I think the website is wrong in some way. Anyways, all I would like to know if this model supports AES 2.0.

Thanks for providing your device's details @ MaiTra !

The Lenovo SmartFind site will only suggest the OEM recommended and certified pen/stylus that can be use by your Yoga 7 laptop, which is the Lenovo Digital Pen.

This may be worth giving a try especially since there are users who alternatively uses different AES protocol pens/styluses to work from them.

We do hope someone here in the Community Forums can share their experience to confirm it under the same model.
