Windows 10 update broke audio Yoga 710

Last night Windows 10 update broke my audio.  The speaker in the system tray has a red x now, and windows can not resolve the problem.  Window attempts to diagnos, install drivers, and request reboot, but it does not resolve to issue.

Download and installing the lasest audio drivers from Lenovo for my device does not help.  The install program result in status message "Not needed (No device for update present)"

Re: Windows 10 update broke audio Yoga 710

Was it a main OS update or a Windows audio driver update? If the latter try uninstalling the update, uninstalling all Lenovo audio drivers, and then reinstalling just the Lenovo drivers.

Re: Windows 10 update broke audio Yoga 710

1. remove bad driver installed by Windows update

I just resolved with support

Step 1 - remove  a bad drive installed by the Windows 10 update

- Device manager | view | show hidden devices | System

Removed drive with a warning icon - Intel Smart Sound Tech... Audio controller

Step 2. - Rebooted.  Tested sound which was now fixed

Step 3 - Turn off the ability of Windows Update to change drivers

Control Panel | System | Advance System settings | Hardware [Tab] | Device installation settings [Button]
select No - for Automatically download manufactures apps & custom icons for your devices

Re: Windows 10 update broke audio Yoga 710

I have this problem but that specific driver does not have a warning label the only that has a warning label is the "intel High Definition Audio" it has a yellow triangle next to it but i cant uninstall that its not an option. ive only ever noticed this happening (becuase its the second time) after windows does its big updates.
