Hi new here. Bought a y730 a month or so back and worked great until recently. After getting all the updates, the fingerprint scanner no longer works. Seems to be a fairly common issue? I read here and tried all the fixes (tried to update the intel software and also the drivers for the reader) and still nothing. I called support and they were essentially worthless. Rolled my computer back and finally suggested I re-install windows after that did not work. It seems as if this is related to the 1803 update?
Does anyone have this working and or a procedure that works? If I install the later updates to the fingerprint driver I get error code 10 (device won't start I think?) and the intel security update that was listed refuses to install (it says both there is an older and newer version during its install).
Any advice is appreciated.
