2019-04-01, 5:32 AM

Hello

Would a new 2TB PCIe M2 SSD be compatible with this model?

Richard

Hi RichardHall,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As per hardware manual specifications (page 26), shows • PCIE: 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB. These capacity are the tested OEM offered m.2 SSD for the system so we cannot guarantee if 2TB is workable.

Other resellers offers 1TB but seems no confirmation for 2TB yet at the moment.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

It appears that a 2TB 2.5" form factor drive is on that Corsair link (see attached), but still no mention about an M.2 higher than 1TB. I would argue that if a 1TB M.2 is listed, then that is higher than the models originally came with and adds weight to a 2TB working.

Hi RichardHall,

Greetings.

Theoretically, 2TB could also work as even Crucial would offer it on a SATA 2.5.  I am sure they have resources to test it with the machine but curious that they only have 1TB for the m.2 PCIe offered and like Corsair, none for 2TB m.2.

Personally considering the cost of 2TB PCIe, best to have a confirmation first before any purchase. With data storage as a practice, we don't have to place all the eggs in one tray. Multiple back up location is still the best practice.

Regards
