I've had many problems with my laptop lately and this time it's quite significant.
I discovered today that my laptop completely shuts off when unplugged. I then plugged it in and tried again. It turned on. Removing the plug while the computer was still on, once again instantly shuts it off. Several more retries and it's pretty clear I cannot use my computer unless it is plugged in.
I don't know if this is just an issue of a faulty battery, or if something else is at work, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice. Mind you, the laptop is only 3 months old.

The hardware manual offer Power System Check out here on page 21-22.
You are not required to open the cover just to reseat the battery but instead, checking the adapter if it is working as expected and trying to note the battery indicator as it supposes to light up blinking amber without powering it on.
Giving it 1-2 hours without changes in the status light especially if it is off would need immediate attention.
Call in technical support for in warranty option.
Hope this help answer your query.

I can't open up the manual.
When the adapter is plugged in the battery status indicator and the power status indicator show solid white lights.
I don't have the option to call technical support as I am half way around the globe. Maybe I could take it to an authorized Lenovo store to get it fixed if there is one in the country where I am currently located.

Sorry for the mix up.
Currently I am in Thailand and I have no set date on going home. Wouldn't it better to contact the Thai Lenovo service center?

I am not optimistic about IWS for this model if available in Thailand but it would be worth a try to check for options.
