I purchased this lenovo laptop about 8 months ago. Over the last 4 or so months i have been having a persistent issue of screen flickering. The entire screen flickers regardless of what program may be in use. Initially i had thought it was related to either a software (like chrome or flash) and it seemd like everytime i shut those programs the problem would go away. I have updated all drivers and BIOS. Recently i noticed that this problem can be reproduced on pressing or tapping the area above the keybaord close the where the screen hinges are which led me to think this may be a hardware issue. I have not damaged this laptop ever and it has been kept in very good condition. How shall I proceed.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Download 'Lenovo Settings' from Microsoft Store
Open 'Lenovo Settings', go to Display section (it's a display icon, the last one on the left), uncheck 'Automatically adjust your display brightness using your computer's ambient light sensor.'
However if you had the same issue aside from the updated BIOS and driver, just like how you noticed when the flickering happens when tapping near the hinge then calling technical support can be the best way to proceed.
US technical support 24 hours/day 7 days/week
or Chat during busines hours
Hope this help answer your query.

Thanks for the response. I have already tried many of the available suggestions on lenovo forums including the changing adaptive display settings but to no avail. Today noticed the screen flicker at the boot screen bios page (LENOVO Start screen) so I am sure it must be a hardware issue. Will call technical support and find out. Am still under warranty so hopefully should fix it.

I could not agree more. It is a hardware issue. As soon as flicering starts on my screen, I gently shake it / adjust the screen, and often it helps. Yet, this is not the solution. Lenovo guys should be sending us new machines, as this product is very poor. If they do not do something, and their ingoring suggests they won't, they will lose so many customers. I am the first one. This company does not deserve my money.

Hello, I am having the exact a same problem. Was this confirmed to be a hardware issue? My laptop has only 4 months and started doing this the past month. Tried updating the video drivers and seemed to work at the beginning but not it is doing the same.
I am assuming that this issue is covered by the warranty.

Help again please. Now that Lenovo Settings has merged with Lenovo Vantage, the options must be different because I can't find what you described to change a setting.

I have tried you solution and it doesnt work, I still get the screen flicker. The camera stopped working only a few months after I bought it. This is the worst laptop I have ever used and I will never consider buying anything Lenovo in future.

I had tried updating drivers, BIOS, software settings etc for months to solve screen flicker. I opened the back of the laptop case (special screwdriver), then tightened all ground screws. Flicker is GONE.
