YOGA 710 TOUCHPAD CURSOR JUMPS

Hi

My yoga 710's cursor some times (randomly i think) jumps to bottom bar area while making left click. It is sometimes annoying because it also opens the programs in shortcut menu. I could not understand if it is a harware or software problem. Any ideas?

thanks ozgur

Re: YOGA 710 TOUCHPAD CURSOR JUMPS

Hi there, Zgtrkr           -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You should try and update the BIOS to the latest version.

Also, uninstall the touchpad driver & re-install it.

Update us how it goes.

Re: YOGA 710 TOUCHPAD CURSOR JUMPS

Hello, I just bought the computer a week ago and I have the same problem. I already updated the bios, uninstalled the elan drivers and installed them, played with the setting in the elan panel to check if it was the sensitivity but no. I thought that it may be because I move the pointer with my middle finger and click with my index and the rapid change drags the pointer down but that is not the case as it has happened even when I use one finger all the time.

Hi

I think problem is with the touchpad because it never makes problem with a mouse. It is still the same for me.  If you find any solutions let me know.

Hi there, Paige            -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You probably need to reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad tapping function or turn it off in the touchpad properties. (Control Panel > Mouse).

Update us how it goes.

Re: YOGA 710 TOUCHPAD CURSOR JUMPS

I just got my Yoga 710-14IKB and can confirm this issue. It may just need some sensitivity adjustment though (as Shashi_Lenovo said). I will try adjusting and report back. It's only happened to me a couple times so far.

Re: YOGA 710 TOUCHPAD CURSOR JUMPS

I adjusted every possible mouse setting, in every configuration, and nothing worked. This happened to me on two separate machines, and I tried this option on both machines over the course of two weeks. Nothin helped. I returned them both.

Re: YOGA 710 TOUCHPAD CURSOR JUMPS

I have almost the same issue as the OP have. Cursor stuck on the right upper side of the sreen in the square which looks like some easy access tool or something. It is not moving from that square, it is always on the same position and cursor is making right click button moves,

Helpdesk is recomending factory reset which obviously did not get any effect.
