For over a year now my web camera has been working on and off again and again. Ive tried uninstalling webcams, making sure privacy settings are in order and still nothing. A few months ago I found out that when I pressed along the right side of the camera, it began to work. I would hold that area with a cloth for about 30 seconds and then it worked for the day. But recently that doesnt solve the problem anymore, that area needs to be constantly pressed for it to work now.
Any ideas of how to go about this problem, btw my warranty is expired so no use sending it in.

Obviously, the issue is hardware. It's a connection problem from the camera going to the motherboard as you need to press that specific area for the camera to work. If you can dismantle the laptop, check the connection, it could just be a loose cable.
