I recently got a replacement under warrant for my previous Yoga 910 that was having problems with locking up and having battery charging issues. The new computer gets so hot that I cannot put it on my lap or touch it even when there are no programs running.

Hi svilledoc ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
We tried this solution from this discussion :
" As discussed , with the latest BIOS Version 2JCN35WW changing to quiet mode in the configuration tab , save and exit and proceed with updating WLAN driver, v. 12.0.0.278. It can be downloaded here http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/DS119197.
If this does not change the fan behavior, try uninstalling the Qualcomm Atheros WLAN Installer, then reinstalling the driver. The Qualcomm Atheros WLAN Installer can be found in Settings -> Apps -> Qualcomm Atheros WLAN Installer. Select it and then right-click to open a menu. Select Remove It. Restart the system. "
Apparent changes with the WLAN installer helped on most heating issues even if there are no fan noise.
Would be worth to try.
Update us how it goes.
Regards

If, after doing everything in Spidey's post above, it's still warm, get a notebook fan to put under it. I have the latest BIOS and V.12 WLAN driver and my 910 still gets mighty warm.. BUT.. no warmer than any other laptop I've ever owned, and I've owned a dozen. I'm fine with that, especially given how thin the 910 is and how much processing power it has. I stick a HaveIT notebook cooler under it when it gets uncomfortable.

After I installed the update it is still quite warm, but it is not hot anymore.

Hi svilledoc,
Greetings.
Good to know that it worked for you.
Adding the laptop cooler would also help especially on prolonged use.

Hi,
Tried all the options but none are working. Its still heating. Tried downloading the WLAN but its not the same version which is referred above.

Neither one of these works. I can't load the BIOS because I get an error saying the BIOS is the same as something else installed. The Quallcom AtherosWLAN Installer isn't even where you say to look for it.
How can I fix this excessive heat that I believe is causing my wifi card to over heat and stop working intermittently.
Both issue make this a large and very expensive paperweight but NOT a usable laptop.

And when you click on the link you provided it doesn't take you to the BIOS download but to this:
Liteon WLAN Driver
Download.
I am getting more frustrated with Lenovo every time I try a "fix" on this page.
