YOGA 920- bad resolution, or is it just me?

2018-04-24, 0:58 AM

Hi.

Just received a 1080 Yoga 920.

Something is weird about the display I am using...

Maybbe it is only me,, but for me the trxt is quite blurry and it is very hard to read anythign on the computer for a long time.

I tried to change resoultion and also calibiarted the display, but nothing really solved anything.

I used a 910 before, and everything was fine!

Does it look blury to you too,?

Doesn't look blurry to me but you can try changing the scale of the 'text, apps, and other items' back to normal size.
R-click on screen, go to display settings, change the scale and layout to 100%, reboot, see if it's any better.

It's hard to tell from looking at the screenshot, but the text on the Yoga 920 should be superb at HD and UHD because it uses the Intel 620 chipset for video. It better be good because this is not a gaming chipset so it's mainly used for office work or home use applications like web browing, e-mail, etc. It's the same chipset on my Dell XPS 13 and both it and my Yoga 920 have superb, crisp text as well as excellent color and contrast on the screen.

The Geforce 1080 Ti in my Alienware Aurora R7 on the other hand, which is the most powerful video/gaming card currently available, has horrific text at 1980x1080: fuzzy, almost like double vision. I last owned a leading edge Nvidia video card in 2005, and Nvidia has made no improvements. Back then, people had to buy the Matrox cards for business applications. They had the best text at 1980x1080. Nividia makes terrific gaming video cards, but crisp text has never been their top priority. I run mine at 3840x2160, the max my monitor will do, which helps sharpen the text a bit.

I suggest you visit a local Best Buy store and compare your screen to the Yoga 920s there, to serve as a frame of reference.
