Yoga 11 issues

Hope someone can help.  I have had this notebook for several months.  I called Support and was advised to send it in, but read horror stories about how long that took.  I have taken it back to factory and reinstalled everything, updated drivers, run the diagnostic package (everything is hunky doorey) and added a wireless mouse to try to resolve.  This is the problems I am having.

1.  My touchpad is irratic.  I can not resize or drag when i am using it.  My solution was to add a wireless mouse.  That really isn't what I wanted.

2.  My cursor freezes in the top right corner of the screen.  The cursor appears in a greyed box and unless I put my finger on it and drag it down to click something it won't move.  Unfortunately this doesn't fix the issue and i have to continue this until it finally corrects itself.

3.  When streaming movies, linking to websites, etc my connection speed is so slow that movies just drag or does the circle spin while loading and websites are very slow opening.  My WiFi gets about 10M download so it isn't the WiFi and other devices do not exerience this problem.

4.  Periodically when i open my notebook there is a black line down the center of the screen.

5.  I keep getting the message that something is wrong with my microphone and test it.  When I do it says it is fine.

Anyone have any suggestions?  Hope so....

Thanks, Sherry

Re: Yoga 11 issues

Hi Sahays,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Please click here for better understanding on erratic behaviour.

What mode is the laptop in during these tests?   Tablet, tent, or laptop mode? I suspect you will see the best speeds while in Laptop mode.  Can you check?

From your description, it seems like that's a vertical line that's appearing on the screen.

Can you try to boot into the BIOS (either by pressing Fn+F2 or via the OneKey Recovery button) and observe.

If the black line is visible there then there's likely a problem with the screen and you will need to contact lenovo for service.

What exactly is he error message you are getting regarding microphone?

Let us know if it helps.

Regards,

Shashi

Re: Yoga 11 issues

I never use the notebook as a tent/tablet so the answer would as a notebook.  I looked at the suggestion of erratic and that is not my issue.  There are 2 distinct problems with the cursor

1.  The one I described where the cursor locks into a greyed out box in the top right corner.  It is visible and with my finger (not the wireless mouse) must drag it down to the taskbar several times before it releases.  This is the most frequent issue.

2.  This morning when i got the email I clicked the link and was taken to the message where it was suggested that I look at the site to determine if this was the definition of erratic.  As soon as the internet site launched there appeared to be 3 dots on the top right corner and the ENTIRE screen was jumping and twitching around.  I had to use my finger to close the screen.  I did this several times and the issues resolved itself.

I have not rebooted my system about the line down the center but will do so in a few minutes and will let you know.

Re: Yoga 11 issues

That's the phantom touch.

The grey circle or box is the touchpoint shown on Windows. They show up on certain point on the screen where Windows thinks the user is touching at the moment. The box stands for the right click, and it shows up when you touch and hold on the touchscreen. So the grey box means that the instance of phantom touch is persisting on one specific location on screen.

Go to Device Manager.  Under Human Interface Devices there are 2 lines for USB input device.  (If there are more, temporarily unplug wireless mouse receiver or other USB input devices).  Disable the first one, by right-clicking on it and selecting Disable.

Let us know if it helps.

Re: Yoga 11 issues

In Windows 10 the Human Interface option was deleted and no longer exists.  Got another idea (hopefully)?

Re: Yoga 11 issues

I have been reading the forums and it appears this is an issue on the Yoga 13 and may have been resolved with a firmware update.  Is there a  firmware fix for the 11?

Re: Yoga 11 issues

I have researched and updated all drivers and there is no firmware update.  It is my assumption that based on your response, there is NO SOLUTION TO ANY OF MY ISSUES.  Apparently the one I read on the Yoga 13 was never resolved either although it was listed as SOLVED, but not according to the people on the link.
