Yoga 13 Battery stuck at 5% "Plugged in, not charging"

2013-10-13, 3:52 AM

Battery is stuck at 5% when plugged in, and when I mouseover the battery icon in the tray it says "plugged in, not charging." I tried uninstalling energy management and then reinstalling in, to no avail. This is quite frustrating :(

Got lenovo support help. What fixed the problem was unplugging the charger, shutting down the computer, then holding the power button for 20 seconds. While the button was held, the computer turned on, showed the startup screen, and the quickly turned off again. I plugged the charger back in, and voila, charging again!

I'm also having this problem, though that didn't fix it. I've tried other things (device manager, reinstalling all drivers, etc.) and nothing seems to work.

in your case, it's better to call support line to ship your system back to service.

I think I will have to. I'm having other problems as well, and Windows 8.1 added even more issues on top of that.

Re: Yoga 13 Battery stuck at 5% "Plugged in, not charging"

Hi there,

Hopefully someone here can help me!

I've had my Yogabook 13 for around 6 months now with no problems whatsoever. I have been using it all day and it charged with no issues this morning. However this evening it is sitting at 5% battery, the icon says that the device is charging but it never goes above 5%. The amber charging LED on the front of the Yogabook is flashing, stays on for around 3 seconds and then blinks to off.

Any ideas what could be the issue? I am running Windows 8.1

Thanks

Thanks Moderator :)

So has anyone else found a proper solution? If I unplug the charger the machine just dies...

What's wrong with the batery : I'm stuck at 10% and can't charge... just stabilize if plugged. Can Lenovo explain what's happening here?

My unit was repaired, the battery charging section was replaced. The fault has appeared again a few weeks later!

I am having the exact same issue!! Geek Squad wanted to replace my battery, but it really feels like a software issue.

When I turn on my computer, the little battery icon shows animation, like it's charging. But when it reaches the end of the bootup process, it stops animating / charging.

I think this started about a week ago, when there were some Windows updates. (I just now have had time to address the problem.)

I have done all of the driver updates. And uninstalled Energy Management. And held the on/off button for 20 sec.

Lenovo: Please help!!!!!!!!
