Hey guys,

I was wondering how hot your Yoga gets recently ?

I Think mine gets so hot that I can put in my laps !

As posted on pg. 98:

temp in my home is roughly 24C, and my Yoga 13 idles in the low 40's. Once I open Chrome and watch a 1080P Youtube video for ~8 min the temps get up to 60C with the left fan speed @ 0% and the right fan @ 29.9%. The rear of the laptop is barely even lukewarm at best.

I'd venture to say that you either need to send your Yoga in for service or tear the unit apart yourself to check the cpu hsf and/or replace the thermal compound.

Umm,  I just teard it apart and changed the compunds I think it runs cooler now but still in idles I can't go lower than 50C. I have to mention that here in Finland my room tempreature is also around 23-24C.

I removed the pre-installed virus scanner to install one for which I already have a license. This made the fan noise go away to a large extend. The choppy swelling and unswelling of the fan noise is completely gone and the fan noise is much much lower. My wife is quite sensitive to noise and she doesn't complain any more about the fan noise when we work on our laptops together in our office room. So I just leave it like that without installing the patch. The virus scanner I use now works well with the fan.

Hi

Thanks for the advice, but having installed notebook fan noise v 1.0 I have no idea how to enable it. Please could you explain again? How exactly do you set the profile?

Many thanks

Re: Lenovo Yoga 13 Lüfter Geräusche reduzieren / Lenovo Yoga 13 reduce fan noise.

Hi - many thanks for this. however, when I click on your link for "Lenovo Yoga132191.config" the OneDrive says "this item might not exist or is no longer available". Please can you suggest what to do? and also, is this to fix the fan noise on a yoga 2 13 (as opposed to a yoga 2 pro)? thanks so much

Here's a really nice SpeedFan setup, completely silent. Warm temps, and I have done a few passive cooling mods, but should still preform well on a stock laptop. If you would like me to post my passive cooling mods, let me know.

Left Fan

Up threshold 0c. Down threshold 0c. Fan speed 0

Up Threshold 60c. Down threshold. 55c. Fan speed 10

Up threshold 63. Down threshold 55c. Fan speed 20

Up threshold 66c. Down threshold 55c. Fan speed 50

Up threshold 78c. Down threshold 70c. Fan 60.2

Up threshold 78c    Down threshold 67c.  Fan 100

Right fan

Up 0

Down 0

Fan 10

Up 60

Down 55

Fan 10

Up 63

Down 55

Fan 20

Up 66

Down 59

Fan 50

Up 68

Down 63

Fan 60.2

Up 78

Down 67

Fan 100

Sorry for the sloppy format, but figured it'd help with some of yalls problems and quickly typed it on my phone. Idle is between 45 and 55 and reaches 72c during gaming. Pretty good considering the 105c tJmax.

I'd be interested in the passive cooling mods!  Thank you!
