I confirm they have removed the 'old' BIOS link, maybe because il made the Intel Rapid Start disappear : http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-IdeaTab-Slate-Tablets/Iissue-with-Bios-update-52-on-yoga-intel-rapid-start-disappear/td-p/1015031...

Another update:

I've submitted the KB article for review.  I think Mark is reviewing it now, so he'll suggest some changes, I'll whine about how I think it's fine as-is, and either way, it should be available shortly.

Also note: The special EC will be available for download from that KB article ONLY.  It will not be published to the Yoga 13 driver matrix, or the Yoga 13 download list on the main support site.

Another way to make a boot usb stick, download WinUsbMaker from

http://www.joshcellsoftwares.com/2012/06/WinUSBMaker.html

and choose MSDOS to USB in the program.

My first impression, the fans are running slightly lower but still very audible. But better test the firmware out for a day before jumping to conclusions.

...and one more option for creating a DOS disk. I used rufus successfully and it was trivially simple: http://rufus.akeo.ie/

Ugh, and I just lost my USB key recently.  Guess I can make a trip to Best Buy.

Very excited about this fix as I have been following this thread for 3 months!! Two questions before I apply the update:

(1) Anyone who has already done the update, how much have your CPU temps increased by?

(2) Is this change reversible if I find that the increased temperature is too much?
