I just wanted to add my voice to this issue. I'm having the same problems. Fan running constantly. It's not too noticeable in a room with background noise, but in a quiet room . . . different story.

My Yoga is silent 80% of the time. When the fan does run (Which it does infrequently and only for maybe a minute at a time) it's whisper quiet and I can only even notice it if I'm in a very, very quiet place like my basement or bedroom.

My fan is alway running, and my touchpad left click sticks depending

on the temp. The touchpad itself rubs against the case and can

be completly stuck down in some cases. I really want to like this laptop.

It's the first time I bought a laptop from lenovo, best argument the "great" support, because for my old laptop (LG) it was horrible and I wanted to buy a product from a company, of which I know that they'll help me, if there is any problem.

 

Now I follow this thread since the beginning, cause I have the same problem with the non-stop fan noise and it gets kind of annoying.

 

First I thought, this problem will be solved in a few days or at least we get any information, that they work on solving it, but there is absolutely no reaction from Lenovo which shows me that they care about our problem, in spite of the "send me a PM" post... there is nothing...

 

Would it be possible to get just a bit of a reaction like:

 

a.) we don't care, we already have your money

b.) we are working on it, please be passion, the problem may be solved in 2 month

c.) we are sorry the problem can't be solved

 

 

I really don't care which answer I get, cause I will keep my yoga anyway, it's great, in spite of this little issue, but it would be helpful to know, if I should start to life with the fan noise or hope for a solution.

 

Sorry for my bad English, I'm writing from Austria and my last English class was 5 years ago ;)

Just spoke with them, what a waste of time. They simply said there are no known

problems with the Yoga 13 fan, and went as far to say every laptop's fan always runs at full speed

all the time. Crazy isn't it? I even pointed them to this forum, but  it was like talking to a Moth.

Don't expect customer support to help with an engineering problem.  They have collected data from several of us and are looking into it. These things can take a few weeks to get resolved and PROPERLY tested before being pushed back into the wild. We can either keep our Yoga's and hope for a fix fairly soon or return them if we don't think the fix will be timely enough. These are the prices we pay for being early adopters.
