and, like I asked before,

is someone smart with software and willing to put a clean Windows 7 on a Yoga?

My Sony is much more noisier after Windows 8.

And.... Windows 7 supprts screen touch as well

The fan isn't controlled at the OS level, so this shouldn't make any difference.

I'm really not pleased with my Yoga, mainly because of the fan noise. Once started, the fans never turn off even when there is no applications in use.

My store has refused a refund. Is there any contact within Lenovo that can help me get a refund or exchange for another model?

Re: Yoga 13 Fan Noise

Hello everyone! I’m writing this on my noise Lenovo Yoga 13 (i7 2,0GHz, 8 GB ram). I have the same problems as the rest of you, loud fans that never stops. I have updated the BIOS to the latest version and compare it to the factory default BIOS, I think my Yoga is quieter (at least the fans starters latter). The fans started when the temperature exceeds about 45 degrees but when the temperature drops the fans doesn’t stop. I can live with the fans running when I have the charger connected but when I use the computer on battery power, I think it would be quiet, or at least that the fans stay off when they reach a certain temperature. My computer is around 42 degrees when it is "inactive" (ie, when it is on but no applications are running). I understand that because I have an Intel core i7 processor that I should have higher temperatures than others but should it not be able to downcloka the CPU when running on battery power? Should also mention that the Intel (R) Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework Low Power Mode Service Application is not running on my computer, I tried to start it but it refuses to start. Don’t know what it does but it sounds good :D

I'm pretty sure you don't run the dynamic platform.  You just need a driver for it.  And, when activated (in the BIOS), it limits the processor speed of your chip when in tablet mode.

有人可以请联想至少承认这个问题吗?有没有财产以后,正在工作的那一刻?注意这个问题缺乏显着。

Translate: Can someone please at Lenovo acknowledge the problem at least?  Is there somthing that is being worked on at the moment?  The lack of attention to this problem is remarkable.

I have now checked the settings in the BIOS and Intel dynamic platform is enabled. There is however two other Intel dynamic platform applications that is running on the computer but not Low Power Mode. That application doesn’t even start when I have the computer in tablet mode and I can’t make it start then either. I thought this may have something to do with the computer getting hot hence why the fans constantly running. Or is this an entirely different problem. Can someone check if Intel(R) Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework Low Power Mode Service Application is running on your computer?

Yes, I have two DPTF services running. However, the DPTF LPM (low power mode) service is unable to start as well.   Sometimes, services are only able to be started for a brief second when they check for some state and then stop immediately.  That is expected behavior in some cases.

However, there is a repeated error in my Event Viewer logs related to "DptfPolicyLpmServiceHelper cannot be found".  The EXE is surely found in the system32 folder along with its DLL, but the system doesn't see it.

I've tried to register the DLL, thinking that the install is corrupted, but that didn't seem to work, as there was yet another error that was spit out.  "The entry point DLL Register Server was not found".
