Please shut up then, your whining isn't helping anything. It certainly isn't getting Lenovo to fix the problem any faster.

Put the issue into perspective. I've owned many laptops and virtually all have had faults. I wish the fans would power down but moaning like it's the end of the world isn't going to help.

Yeah, you paid 1200 euro's and for a high end laptop and then you have to shut up, probably working and a fine company with a lot of custumor care ;-)

You can call it whining, but no one's moaning like it's the end of the world.  Fall into perspective, hey?

He is quite properly calling attention to the problem.  It's a form of protest.  A premium price tag does indeed warrant at least a bare minimum of attention.   I welcome as many posts to this thread as possible.  If you're simply looking for a solution to a problem that you can live with, then unsubscribe.  But, let the protest continue!

Hi all,

thanks for posting you concern and frustration. Undestandably this has been running for sometime and narrowing down the rootcause getting this issue to rectify and test to ensure that the machine does not run into any mishaps was a very challenging and a number of obstacles had to be overcomed. However with your patience, time and feedbacks we managed to accomplish what we set out to do. To those still looking for a solution, one of our team engineers posted the solution previoiusly. To those that have yet to try all this can be found below.

Nine, as mentioned there have been a ton of pages since then.  While in many cases the fan speeds have been reduced, only at the very lowest temps.  And, even then, the fans are turned on unnecessarily early.  Fans ramp speed way too quickly.  And, the fans never seem to turn back off once on.

Dell has solved this problem with numerous BIOS releases.  Why can't you do this too.  This must be an embarrasment, no?

Are you not reading this thread? Apparently this laptop is unusable, little more than a lump of plastic due to this problem. Lenovo is a terrible, evil company, laughing at us all and the way they duped us. It's as if the laptop wasn't noisy when it came out of the box (during the return period), right?

Greystone,

Do you even have a Yoga?

If you have no complaints, fine, leave and celibrate every move of Lenovo.

Let us, if Dell is possible to fix it, why can't Lenovo give us a solution??

And yes, it's worthwhile because the Yoga is a very clever concept!

But let's be honest, a bit more help can be expected.

Yes, my wife and I both own them, they both have fans that run all the time. It is a dissapointing problem, I expect Lenovo to fix it. But I understand they have zero obligation to do so, and if they never fix it these are still very solid laptops. I only look at this thread to see if therre is an update on the solution, instead I am greeted by silly rants.

If you think Dell or any other company is without fault then buy their gear.  Nasty comments and rage in this thread isn't going to get the issue fixed.

Correct, but than, don't make any promisses as Lenovo does, and don't deny the problem.

Speak clearly and truthfully,

yes we will solve this,

no we can't..... which is it to be, than this thread is over and out.

Don't know policies in your country but nog everywhere you're allowed to return your product if it's not to your satisfaction

Maybe we need to repeat for the x time that the current ec update is broken in some crucial ways.

Lenovo, please go back and look at it again! This is the third? time there is a lenovo staff post that refers to this 'old' (broken) fan fix... Please read my previous posts...

Whats the use of a fix if it doesn't fix anything... And makes the fans behave worse in some cases

Re: Yoga 13 Fan Noise

Since there seems to be no software solution available, I've disconnected the fans for 2 weeks now. I use the yoga daily for work (10-12 hours a day) and did not run into any real issues. The worst being, that DPTF slowed the Computer down a bit when it became to hot (~80° Celsius according to CoreTemp).

the average temp is about 65° and that's no issue for me nor for the CPU.

when I use it flat on my lap, which is rarely the case it feels warm off course but I prefer this to the noise of the spinning fans.
