Yoga 13 - Intel Rapid Start Technology

2013-05-15, 13:46 PM

I have tried to install the drivers and am told that my system does not have the proper hardward.  This is the current Yoga 13" i7 laptop.  Not sure why it would list the driver, but the system not support it.

Anyone able to get this to install?  I tried contacting Lenovo and they wanted to charge me $60 for assistance.

hi Ikyo

Thank You for using Lenovo Community Forums!

You might want to check this post on how to get the Rapid start to work

Note: This guide may provide download links for drivers, Please ensure to download your own version for your computer model under your computer driver download page at www.support.lenovo.com

http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-Z-and-P-series/The-Guide-on-How-To-Reformat-Repartition-AND-Get-RapidStart-amp/m-p/910731/highlight/true#M68094

Before you can install Rapid Start a certain partition has to be configured first for Hibernation using diskpart

If that partition is not available on your Computer You would likely to have that kind of Error as it is a requirement of Rapid Start

also check

Hope this helps,

Cheers!

I am not seeing any of the options in the BIOS.  I will go ahead and configure a partition to use and see if it will install then.

hi Ikyo

I'm seeing an update for your BIOS under

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032590

You may try updating your BIOS for this

BIOS Update for 64-bit Windows
66cn55ww_x64_en.exe
5.46MB

Hope this helps

I have applied the new BIOS.  I noticed that the Inter Rapid Start selection does not appear in this version.  Is that supposed to happen?

I never noticed any gain with Intel Rapid Start so I removed it to recover 8GB of space instead by deleting the partition.

Never looked back and my computer still boots in about 7-8 seconds (cold boot). Also got the newer BIOS in my machine.
