While I absolutely agree that Lenovo should address this and a $1,000 laptop should not have this issue, if you love the Yoga otherwise and that's your only issue, some 3M double-sided tape under the keyboard solves the issue.

One should not have to tape things down or together on a brand new 1000 laptop... I'm sure I could find plenty in the sub $500 price point that do not have similar issues.

Nobody said you should have to. In fact, I said that Lenovo should address this, and that it should't happen on a $1,000 laptop. So not sure why you felt the need to repeat that.

Just offering a $3, 2-minute solution for those folks who like the Yoga otherwise and would like to fix the issue instead of going though an exchange process or having to go to a different design.

FWIW, the loose keyboard is not a universal problem. My first Yoga didn't have it, and my second one didn't until I chose to remove the keyboard to upgrade the RAM. So in my case, it's my fault I needed the tape.

Try the Toshiba Satellite U925t.  Nice backlit keyboard.  Sexy design  :)  Check out their reviews on youtube.

And only 1366x768 resolution, pretty cramped compared to the Yoga.

I have a new Yoga from Best Buy as well and my keyboard has EXACTLY the same issue!  I'm bummed about this.  I have spent hours setting up this computer with all my data and apps, and don't want to return it at this point, but did buy an at-home repair warranty for $33.  If it bugs me more and/or gets worse, I'll have them do a house call to replace the keyboard.  I suspect it won't be a good fix, given the previous comments.

This is the one thing that bothers me most, any specific tape you used (I guess there are different 3M D/S tapes) and any tips?

Many thanks in advance!

There are two types of tapes that would work. I suggest using the permanent type after you upgrade your ram and/or SSD. http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Permanent-Double-Inches-3-Pack/dp/B0035LXTYU/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_t/177-9873226-2883451

Use the removable if you just want to eliminate the loose corners and make it easier for a future ram/SSD upgrade. http://www.amazon.com/Scotch%C2%AE-Removable-DoubleSided-Dispenser-667/dp/B00006IF63/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top/177-9873226-2883451

You really only need two 3/4" length strips to hold down the edges.  My Yoga came with the tape already installed.  It was a pain to pop the tape while removing the keyboard to upgrade the ram.  There are plenty of hooks that hold the keyboard in place;  6 metal hooks under the keyboard and 6 plastic catches on the top and bottom edges.  I believe Lenovo's original idea was to leave the top corners free to allow for easy removal of the keyboard.  I wish mine didn't have the tape.  Without the tape, I could have upgraded the ram in 60 seconds then added the tape myself.

I upgraded my ram to 8GB using this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006YG8X9Y/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01

My Windows Experience score for Memory Ops/sec went from 5.9 to 7.2.  I highly recommend the upgrade;  especially if your Yoga doesn't have the tape installed at the factory and you are planning to add the tape.

I bought the permanant tape.  It's not permanant on metal and plastic anyway.  Does the trick nicely.

Almost a requirement after a RAM upgrade.  That double sided tape from the factory isn't made to stick twice.

I suspect that the ones that show a problem from the factory never had a good tape seal.
